This is my story.
The story of the love I felt from the moment I was a newborn foal.
Some would say I was born tricky!
I would say I was born special!
My story is one on how I took on my daily learnings.
How I learned to understand the importance of relationships, education and competition.
And how to embrace my difference!
From the night she was born to the day she went to her first competition. Feel involved with all her love, laughter and learnings along the way. Told from her perspective, this story weaves you through the wonderful environment in which she lives, her family and friends and the experiences they all have together.
A story your horse crazy children will NOT want to put down. đ

Hello! Iâm Leanne J. Williams, a passionate childrenâs book author with a lifelong love for animals.
From the earliest days of my childhood, Iâve been captivated by the world of creatures great and small. This deep appreciation for animals inspires my writing, as I strive to tell their stories from their unique perspectives.
Through my books, my aim is to create a magical connection between children and the animal kingdom, helping young readers understand and appreciate the lives of the animals around them. Each story is a delightful journey, filled with adventure and valuable lessons, encouraging curiosity and empathy.
I believe that when children learn about animals in an engaging way, they develop a sense of responsibility and respect for all living beings.
Art and horses have been part of Maryâs whole life. She grew up in a big family on Mt Dandenong surrounded by ponies, a beautiful landscape and a strong family interest in the arts. Mary studied art right through to tertiary level and taught primary classroom, and primary and secondary art before, on retirement, setting up her own studio practice focusing on equestrian work and landscapes.
As a teacher, mother and now grandmother Mary has always enjoyed childrenâs picture story books and the important role that the illustrator plays in collaborating with an author to create beautiful and memorable stories for children.
Mary and her children enjoyed a great many years of owning and riding horses; competing in dressage and one day events. Today, being both a landscape and equestrian artist Mary can sometimes be seen at equestrian events creating spontaneous and lively sketches of horses and riders, however she also works on formal equestrian commissions. Over sixty years of experience with horses has led Mary to have a rich understanding of horsesâ movements and the nuances of their behaviour when interacting with other horses, with other animals and with humans. Having completed various commissions for Leanne over the years Mary was delighted to be commissioned to create the illustrations for Leanneâs charming and informative picture story book âRoseanna Goldâ.
